Della Mae Ury

Della Mae Drury, age 79, of Miles, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at her son’s home in rural Miles, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Green Island Congregational Church. Burial will take place in Fairfield Cemetery, rural Miles, Iowa at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
Della was born on December 30, 1937, in Modesto, California, the daughter of Joseph and Mattie (Boyd) Carter. Della married Calvin Drury on August 2, 1958. They celebrated 34 years of marriage until Calvin’s death on June 10, 1993. She later had a wonderful relationship with Fred Kyles, until his death. Della was a homemaker who cherished taking care of her family. She was a member of Green Island Congregational Church. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.
Della will be dearly missed by her three children, Rosaleen (Bill) Mac Isaac of Wenatchee, Washington, Thomas (Martha) Drury of Miles, and Charles (Renae) Drury of Miles; eight grandchildren, Heather Drury, Tom Drury, Kendra Drury, Nicolas Mac Isaac, Jason Mac Isaac, Jesse (Yolanda) Jepsen, Thomas (Jackie) Jepsen and Ashlie (Andrew) Ebensberger; and eight great-grandchildren, Bradley Drury, Calvin Drury, Darian Wilslef, Kaylea Jepsen, Rylie Gillen, Johnny Gillen, and Whitney and Addy Jepsen; one sister, Frances Hayward of Albany, Oregon.
Della is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; one son, Alan; one great-grandson, Eldon Jepsen; three brothers, Bob, Jim and John; a sister, Stella Leppert; a brother in-law, Chris Hayward; and a special friend, Fred Kyles.
