Deanna Kay Eissens, age 68, of Thomson, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2019 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Deanna’s memory.
Deanna was born December 26, 1950 in Rock Island, Illinois the daughter of Jack and Maravene (Etzel) Williamson. She attended Albany Grade School and graduated from the Fulton High School with the Class of 1968. As a young woman, Dee went to Washington DC and worked one year at the CIA as a Key-Punch Operator, then returned to Albany, meeting her future husband Gene. On October 4, 1974, Deanna married Gene Eissens. They celebrated forty-four years of marriage and raised two children.
Deanna was a homemaker most of her life, along with devoting much of her time to the Thomson Community. She was great at organizing events, serving as the Melon Day President for five years and spearheading many other community activities for kids and those in-need. Dee also found time to work while raising kids, she worked ten years at GE in Morrison and five years for Wildwood Farms near Thomson.
Deanna will be dearly missed by her husband, Gene; one son, Ryan (Rachel) Eissens of Thomson; one daughter, Lindsay Eissens of Goldsboro, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Emmett, Treston, and Isabella; a brother, Gary (Sandra) Williamson of Fulton, Illinois; and a twin sister, Deborah (Howie) Selhost of Fulton. Deanna is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Maravene, and her grandparents.
