David Barraza, of Chadwick, IL, passed away Thursday, November 16, at his home. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, at the Milledgeville Brethren Church. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Dave was born on March 1, 1949, son of Raymond and Louisa Barraza. He was one of nine children, Dave and his wife Karen spent 40 years of their lives together and raised two daughters.
Dave and Karen often worked side by side. They owned and operated the Sunshine Cafe in Mt. Carroll for a number of years, as well as long haul trucking as a team. Most of his life he spent as a truck driver. When Dave had spare time, he enjoyed maintaining his lawn, and feeding the birds. He was always the fun parent, and loved playing and spending time with his daughters. Dave absolutely adored his grandson and was very proud of the family he and Karen had built.
David will be dearly missed by his immediate family, his wife, Karen Barraza of Chadwick; their children, Francesca (Joe) Chan of Rock Falls, IL, Neysa (Jordan) McCleary of Milledgeville, IL, and his grandson Elijah.
He is survived by his wife Karen, his children Francesca, Neysa, Donna, Dannell, Steven, and David, grandchildren and his siblings, Leonard, Victor, Josephine, Martina, and Julia. David is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Louisa; and his siblings, Steven, Mary, and Margaret.
