Darrell D. Daggert, age 70, of Thomson, Illinois passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded by Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson, Illinois with a private family service at a later date. Friends and family are invited to share in Darrell's life at

Darrell was born October 23, 1943, the son of Sherman and Eunice (Best) Daggert in Freeport, Illinois. He attended the Mt. Carroll High School and graduated with the Class of 1961. After high school, Darrell served in the United States Air Force until 1967. He married Dorothy “Dottie” Farrar on November 25, 1977 in Grandbury, Texas.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Carroll, and the Thomson American Legion Post #1025. Darrell loved his dogs, Panda and Peaches. He enjoyed wildlife and feeding birds, as well as vegetable gardening in his yard. Most of all, Darrell loved spending time with his family.
Darrell will be dearly missed by his wife, Dottie; four sons, David (Bonnie) Bishop of Fort Collins, Colorado, Kelly (Robin) Bishop of Blountstown, Florida, Chris (Karen) Daggert of North Port, Alabama, and Mark (Taylor) Daggert of Clemmons, North Carolina; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Doug (Marilyn) Daggert of Mt. Carroll. He is preceded in death by his father, Sherman.
