Darlene M. Ritter

Darlene M. Ritter, age 61, of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Mount Carroll Church of God in Mount Carroll, with the Reverend Rick Zickefoose officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Darlene’s memory.
Darlene was born on September 2, 1946, the daughter of Orville E. and Ethel N. (Burington) Mohns in Savanna, Illinois. She was raised in Savanna and attended Savanna area schools. Darlene married James B. Ritter on October 5, 1968 at the Oak Park Bible Church in Savanna.
Darlene was a Homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a longtime member of the Church of God in Mount Carroll. She enjoyed flowers and singing but most of all Darlene loved her three cats.
Darlene will be deeply missed by her husband, James; one brother, Lawrence (Esther) Mohns of Fenton, Illinois; one sister, Elizabeth (Walter “Irv”) Shrake of Savanna, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents.
