Darlene Hayes

Darlene Hayes, of Mt. Carroll, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 10, at Allure Nursing Home in Mt. Carroll. In lieu of flowers to the family, flowers can be sent to Allure to be enjoyed by the Heroic staff of Allure and the many residents that are being cared for there.

Darlene was born August 21, 1940, daughter of Raymond and June (Lippner) Burke. She grew up in Chicago, IL, and Worth, IL. Darlene graduated from Blue Island High School with the class of 1958. In 1988 Darlene married the love of her life, Raleigh Hayes. Together they moved back to Raleigh’s home state of Kentucky, and celebrated 26 years of marriage until Raleigh’s passing in 2014.

Darlene spent much of her career at Johnson and Johnson Baby Products as a line operator. In her younger days Darlene loved dancing, and was a guest dancer on American Bandstand multiple times. Later in life Darlene loved spending her free time tending her garden and caring for her flowers and yard.

Darlene will be dearly missed by her loving family. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and June, and her brothers Raymond Burke, John Burke, and Ronald Burke.
