Born September 13, 1963, Daniel is the 5th out-of-nine children to John and Shirley (Babbs) Piercy. They lived in Taylorville, Illinois until Daniel was ten, then the family moved to Fulton to follow his dad’s work. Daniel is a 1981 graduate of Fulton High School where he enjoyed sports and played baseball. He fostered an early passion for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins.
The biggest moments in his life include marrying the true love of his life and best-friend, Dianne Taylor, on August 21, 2008. The next big moment was becoming a Father to Alexis. These two (Dianne and Alexis) have especially filled his life with love, laughter and adventure. When he got to choose anything to do, he would say, “Let’s go for a ride in the country.”
His love for sports continued throughout life, and he shared this with his daughter Alexis by challenging her to basketball games in the driveway, or taking the family to St. Louis Cardinal games each year. He dearly loved attending the Daddy-Daughter dances throughout the years, spending special time together.
Daniel was a hard worker in his 42-year career, attaining the level of Group Leader for many years at Drives, then Timken Drives. He really appreciated his relationships that came with working with a great team.
Daniel will be dearly missed by his wife, Dianne of Savanna; his daughter, Alexis; his mother, Shirley Piercy of Fulton; and seven siblings, Steve Piercy of Morrison, Deb (Doug) Pell of Fulton, Barb (Bob) Coffey of Fulton, Tami (Jeff) Zachman of Fulton, Randy Piercy of Fulton, Greg (Jennifer) Piercy of Chandler, Arizona and Chad (Monica) Piercy of Fulton. Daniel is preceded in death by his brother, Dale; his dad, John; and all of his grandparents.
