Daniel Joseph Evans, 23, of Middleton, WI, formerly of Geneseo, passed away unexpectedly Sunday October 20, 2013 in East Moline, IL. A funeral mass celebrating Daniel’s life will be held 10:30 AM Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Geneseo. Rev. Michael Pakula will celebrate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation for Daniel will be 4-7 PM Thursday, October 24th at Vandemore Funeral Home in Geneseo where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 PM. Memorials may be left to the Daniel Evans Memorial Fund.
Daniel was born June 21, 1990 in Lich, Germany, the son of Thomas and Joan (Mason) Evans. Daniel was a 2008 graduate of J.D. Darnall High School in Geneseo and had attended Western Illinois University. He was currently employed as a meat specialist for Hy-Vee Food Stores in Madison, WI. He had attended St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Geneseo and played football while in High School. He enjoyed golfing and racing his car. Daniel was a loyal Denver Broncos and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved his dog, Remi, and being with his friends. Daniel adored his family.
Survivors include his mother: Joanie Evans of Bettendorf, IA; his father: Tom Evans currently assigned in South Korea ; sisters: Sarah Evans of Moline, IL, Megan Evans, Rachel Evans , and Shannon Evans all of Bettendorf, IA; grandmother: Veronica “Ooma” Mason of Savanna, IL; grandparents: Joseph and Irene Evans of Savanna, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Daniel was preceded in death by his grandfather, John C. Mason and the family’s beloved dog, Gemma.
