Daniel "Beno" Brundage

Daniel "Beno" Brundage loved the outdoors, frying fish, and living in Sabula. It's been said, "If you needed him, you could call and he'd be there." At the age of 65, Beno passed away at Mercy Medical Center South, Clinton, Iowa.
Beno was born December 6, 1948 in Savanna, Illinois, the son of James "Bob" and Isabelle "Izzy" (Mangler) Brundage. He is a 1967 graduate of the Sabula High School. Beno worked at various jobs, including Drives in Fulton and the Section Gang on the railroad. He became disabled after a vehicle accident in the 1980s. Beno enjoyed theoutdoors, including hunting, fishing, morel mushroom hunting, picking berries for pies, and was well known for playing pool. He also liked frying fish at the campground and playing cards. Beno had a talent for cooking, but not the dishes!

Beno will be dearly missed by his mother, Izzy Brundage of Sabula; four sister, Sandra (Jack) Kempter of Sabula, Kathy (Dick) Schoenhaar of Savanna, Tanya (Denny) Heintz of Fairfax, Iowa and Kristi (Dan) Johnson of Sabula; and several nieces and nephews. Beno is preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky in 1960 and Jim in 1993; and his father, Bob in 2006.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula with Pastor Robert Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 21 at the Church.
