Dana W. Prowant, age 60 of Belvidere, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died suddenly on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at his home. Cremation Rites will be accorded. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., on September 16, 2017, at Manny’s Pizza, Savanna, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established.
Dana was born on August 10, 1957, the son of Frank and Ruth (Bell) Prowant, Jr. in Freeport, Illinois. He attended Forreston High School and graduated with the Class of 1975. He married Terry Sheedy in 1978, they later divorced. Dana became a Carpenter in 1982, after he completed his Apprentice Training. Dana enjoyed collecting antiques and working with his hands, especially refinishing furniture. He also loved the outdoors, especially hiking and boating.
Dana will be dearly missed by his daughter, Jennifer (JD) Reagan of Savanna, Illinois; three grandchildren, Keara, Brenten, and Brayden; his mother, Ruth French of Savanna; four brothers, Mark (Jenifer) Prowant of Robins, Iowa, Frank (Sheri) Prowant of Ankeny, Iowa, Darrin (Kim) Prowant of Windsor, Colorado, and Steve (Amy) Prowant of Savanna, Illinois; three sisters, Jaymie (Roger) Allen of Stockton, Illinois, Jodie Stoker of New Richmond, Wisconsin, and Jackie (Aaron) Kreuder of Bondurant, Iowa; two stepbrothers; and one stepsister.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Frank; a stepfather, Edward French; and one stepbrother, Jim (Donna) French.
