Dana A. Baglin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter who cherished her grandchildren, Adelaide and Flynn and loved having them over for sleepovers. On August 18, 2014, at the age of 63, Dana entered into heaven at home surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois. Burial will take place in the Savanna Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Dana’s memory.
Dana was born on January 1, 1951, the daughter of Robert “Kuke” and Florence “Fussy” (McCarthy) Crist in Savanna. She attended and graduated from the Savanna High School. On September 7, 1974, Dana married the love of her life Gary Baglin at the Community Church in Savanna. Dana worked for Pamida and Shopko for many years. She most recently worked and retired as a security guard for ADM in Clinton, Iowa.
Dana loved gardening and animals. There was never a time in her life that her home was without a dog; in fact there are four rescues at home now. She took great pride in her yard and won most beautiful home in 2013 and honorable mention in 2011 for her meticulous and beautiful yard. Dana enjoyed baking even though she couldn’t eat any, and would spend all day making treats if her family let her.
Dana is survived by her husband of forty years, Gary of Savanna; one son, Gary (Amy) Baglin of Freeport, Illinois; two grandchildren, Adelaide and Flynn Baglin; her mother, Florence “Fussy” Remrey of Savanna; two sisters, Martha (Steve) Lovely of Forrest Hill, Maryland, Rae Ann (Dave) Reynolds of Savanna; one brother, Thomas Crist of Dubuque, Iowa; one sister in-law, Barb Crist and many nieces and nephews. Dana is preceded in death by her father, Kuke; step-father, Stanley Remrey; two brothers, Bobby and Jeff Crist.
