Dale Francis Teberg, Jr., age 74, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at home after a sudden illness. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. Dale was born November 6, 1945, the son of Dale Francis, Sr. and Verneta Mae (Turner) Teberg in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, growing up and working on the family farm. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School, graduating with the Class of 1964, where he held the record for the 100-yard dash at 9.7 seconds. He always remembered driving his first car, a ’55 Chevy. Dale attended the University of Iowa on a track scholarship and graduated in 1969. He married Vicki Shivley on August 21, 1965, and later married Kathy Ferrell on December 22, 1973 in Rockton, Illinois.
Dale taught and coached for the Hanover and River Ridge School district. He was a member of the Hanover Village Council and the RREA. He enjoyed golfing, coaching, spending time with his family and socializing with friends. Sports were a large part of Dale’s life. He loved cheering on the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes, and always made time for his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events.
Dale will be dearly missed by his four children, Ted (Mary) Teberg of Burlington, Wisconsin, Tracy (Eric) Shepard of Littleton, Colorado, Corey (Shean) Albrecht of Elizabeth, Illinois and Carrie (Dave) Geary of Galena, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Tessa and Tommy Teberg, Tyler and Connor Shepard, Caden and Addison Albrecht, and Brecken and Holden Geary; and one brother, Jerry (Sherry) Teberg of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Dale Sr., and Verneta.
