Dale E. Schultz age 71, of Savanna, Illinois passed away at home, Monday, March 19, 2018. A memorial visitation will be held on April 7, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Memorials may be given to the family in Dale’s memory.
Dale was born on April 20, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Benard and Dorothy (Sidesky) Schultz. He attended York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois. On June 22, 1978, Dale married Deborah Holst. They celebrated 39 years of marriage. Dale worked as a steel fabricator/pipefitter for most of life, finally retiring from ADM in Clinton, Iowa. During his retirement, Dale was a small business owner, he ran a small machine shop in Savanna, he also was a commercial fisherman. He loved to try everything and keep busy.
Dale felt at home in the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed his pet rabbits, and working as an amateur blacksmith. Most of all Dale treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Dale is survived by his wife, Deborah; four children, Jacob Schultz, Karyene (Brian) Friedenauer, Jeremy Schultz, Katrina Schultz; five grandchildren, Saige, Nate, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Emily all of Illinois and a sister, Pam (David) Sapp of Florida. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Catalina Schultz.
