Daisy Chamberlain was a devoted Christian, who read her bible every day and shared her Christianity with others. She entered into eternity at the age of 95 on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth with Reverend Jeremy Yowell officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Daisy was born the daughter of Miles and Ollie (Robertson) Dobbs on February 19, 1918 in Wyanet, Illinois. She graduated from Plano High School in Plano, Illinois. On September 13, 1937, Daisy married James Chamberlain in Des Plaines, Illinois. James died on November 11, 1988.
Christianity was very important to Daisy. She worked a few years opening the mail and helping in the office for Moody Bible Institute, Chicago. Daisy did mission work her entire life and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed making quilts to give to the homeless and sending them around the world to missionaries. She was a past Sunday school teacher and volunteer at Christian Industrial League in downtown Chicago.
Daisy will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, MaryAnn Taylor and Betty (Ken) Miller of Des Plaines; four grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; one brother, Norman Dobbs of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and three sisters-in law, Hazel Dobbs of Avon Park, Florida, Anita Chamberlain of Galena, Illinois and Edith Bromeland of DeKalb, Illinois.
Daisy is preceded in death by her husband, James of 51 years; six brothers and two sisters.
