Craig A. McDearmon, age 57, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at his home outside of Mt. Carroll. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Craig was born on November 30, 1966, in Rockford, Illinois, son of James and Lana Rae (Storch) McDearmon. He grew up in Shannon, Illinois, before moving to Eldridge, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. He spent a lot of time during his childhood days at his grandma and grandpa McDearmon’s farm in Mt. Carroll, and visiting his grandpa and grandma Storch in Mt. Carroll as well. Craig went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree from Scott Community College in Davenport, Iowa. Craig married Laura Griffen on June 9, 1990 and November 13,1991 they had a son Zachary. Craig and Laura later divorced but remained friends. On September 21, 2019, Craig married Lisa Shipman, and together they settled in the Mt. Carroll area.

Craig faced significant challenges throughout his life due to a congenital birth defect in his right leg. Despite numerous medical procedures and the need for artificial limbs, Craig's spirit remained strong. Craig loved spending time in nature, exploring the woods and streams in the Midwest and the deserts and lakes in Arizona. He spent time with family in Arizona and Alabama, sharing special moments with his mother, siblings, and extended family.

Craig will be dearly missed by his wife, Lisa, her son Wyatt; son, Zachary(Zoie) McDearmon; grandchildren Bradley, Oliver & Olivia; father Jim(Suzo) McDearmon; sister Lori(Tim) Luchner, sister Heidi McDearmon and brother Curtis(Stacy) McDearmon), and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends.
