Correna M. Trenkamp, age 85, of Preston, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 30, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2006, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Preston, Iowa. Father Don Plamondon will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Preston, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family in Correna’s name. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Preston.
Correna was born November 22, 1920 the daughter of Everett and Anna (Franzen) Keller in Leeds, Iowa. Correna married Bernard Trenkamp on June 5, 1939, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sugar Creek, Iowa. Correna was a homemaker. She and her husband operated the family farm in rural Preston for thirty years. She enjoyed embroidery and quilting, fishing and loved the outdoors. Correna also enjoyed her volunteer work with senior citizens and her church. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Correna will be deeply missed by her husband, Bernard of Preston, Iowa; three sons, Stephen (Doris) Trenkamp of Preston, Iowa, James (Jean) Trenkamp of Preston, Iowa, Richard (Cherylee) Trenkamp of Lombard, Illinois; one daughter, Anna (Ferdinand) Klamik of Riverside, Illinois; one brother, Wesley Keller of Sioux City, Iowa; one sister, Louise Beck of California City, California; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-granchildren.
Correna is preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Keller and Lester Keller.
