Constance “Connie” (Braunlin) Fink, age 70, of Thomson, Illinois, passed into the arms of God Saturday, March 8, 2025 at home after a brief illness. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois, with a visitation from 10am – 12noon, prior to the service. Burial will be in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson.
She was the daughter of Herrmann Braunlin, the founder and longtime pastor of the Hawthorne Gospel Church in Hawthorne, NJ, and Lydia Caliandro Braunlin. Both preceded her in death. Connie grew up in Hawthorne, NJ, where her early years were shaped by faith, family, and a love of learning.
She pursued higher education at Covenant College in Chattanooga, TN (1972–1974) and later earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, NY (1974–1976). She went on to serve at Moody Bible Institute, where she impacted the lives of 700 women over five years. It was there that she met her beloved husband, David. They were married in 1980, sharing a deep love and a life centered on faith and service.
For over 40 years, Connie worked in office management and administrative roles, including at the Counseling Center at Bradley University in Peoria and later at Metform in Savanna, IL, where she devoted 24 years of service. From the time she was just three years old, Connie trusted Christ as her Savior, beginning a lifelong journey of faith. She cherished an intimate relationship with God, expressing that connection through her gift of writing.
A talented and passionate writer, Connie published nearly 100 articles and contributed as an editor for Just Between Us Magazine, a publication dedicated to encouraging and equipping women around the world in their faith. Through her words and actions, Connie walked alongside others with compassion, loyalty, and a deep desire to reflect Christ’s love. Her greatest joy was living in the hope and anticipation of seeing Christ face to face.
Connie also had a great love for her cats, cherishing them as if they were her own children. She found joy in reading and sewing, pursuits that reflected her thoughtful and creative spirit.
She is survived by her husband, David; her brother, Tim (Sharon) Braunlin; her sister-in-law, Linda (Terry) Laaker; her brother-in-law, Gregory (Veronica) Fink; and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herrmann and Lydia Braunlin, her father- and mother-in-law, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and her special maternal aunt and dear friend, Alpha Caliandro.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Just Between Us Magazine, honoring Connie’s dedication to encouraging and uplifting others through the power of faith and words. To see her work visit
