Connie D. Havens, age, 53, of Elizabeth, IL, passed away Sunday, August 4th. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth.
Connie was born on August 17, 1970, to Clyde and Irene (Smith) Havens in Elizabeth, IL, where she grew up and created lifelong memories. Connie was a proud graduate of River Ridge High School, class of 1989. Shortly after, Connie welcomed her first daughter into the world with Scott Lisk. In 1996, she married Dean Roberts, and together they raised two children. Though their paths eventually diverged, the love they shared for their children remained strong. Later in life, Connie married Russell Allen. Together they had one daughter, and raised all four children on the Allen farm. Connie and Russell eventually parted ways, and remained close friends.
Connie dedicated nearly 20 years of her life to working at Walmart in Galena. She took great pride in her work and cherished the relationships she built with her coworkers, offering them motherly advice and support. Her career also included time spent working at Chestnut Mountain, Atwoods in Stockton, The Little Keg in Elizabeth, and Galena Chrysler.
Connie cherished her time living on a farm with her daughter Gracie, where they lovingly cared for a wide array of animals, from rabbits and chickens to donkeys, ducks, and her beloved sheep. Connie found her serenity in mowing the lawn, ear buds in, on a sunny summer’s day.
Above all, Connie was a devoted mother. She was everything a mother could be—supportive, loving, stern, goofy, and fiercely protective. Her children were her world, and she never hesitated to be open and honest with them, guiding them with wisdom and unwavering love. A life long goal of Connie’s was to be a grandmother, and three years ago she succeeded, becoming the best grandma little Matthew could ask for. Connie's loud, infectious laugh and her ability to talk a mile a minute will be missed by all who knew her, especially her sister Rena, with whom she shared a deep, unbreakable bond.
Connie will be dearly missed by her four children; Tiffany (William Niedo) Lisk of Hanover, IL, Katlyn (Bret) Liederbach of Pewaukee, WI, Troy Roberts of Elizabeth, IL, and Gracie Allen of Elizabeth; one grandchild, Matthew Liederbach and one on the way; five siblings, Terry (Jenny) Havens of Hanover, Sherri (Ken Spoerl) Havens of Hazel Green, WI, Bonnie (Adam Brant) Patterson of Scales Mound, IL, Rena (Doug) Smith of Galena, IL, and Clydene Olson of Hanover; and many nieces and nephews. Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Irene, and her sister, Sylvia.
