Clifton “Cliff” Russell Robinson, age 73, of Sabula, Iowa, died Friday, April 1, 2016 at home in Sabula, Iowa. Burial of ashes will take place at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery in Sabula. Memorials may be given to the Sabula Library in Cliff’s memory.
Cliff was born May 1, 1942, at home in Sabula, the son of Henry “Ed” and Edith May (Papke) Robinson. He attended Sabula High School and later received his GED. Cliff worked alongside his father as a fisherman, and later went to work at National Byproducts in Clinton, Iowa as a laborer. Cliff was devoted to the care of his mother for many years, following the death of his father.
Cliff was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about history. He was a member of the Mormon Church.
Cliff is survived by his sisters, Rose (James) Belk of Long Grove, Iowa, Mima “Mickey” (George) Meaney of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Virginia “Ginny” (Allen) Ross of Marion, Iowa, June (Doyle) Rogers of Bellmeade, Texas; a brother, Robert Robinson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews. Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Viola Fern Smith, Eleanor May Cox-Western and two sisters in infancy, Ruth Marie and Thelma Ruth.
