Clarence O. Hancock, age 99, of Elizabeth, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 in the Morgan Memorial Nursing Home, Stockton, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Reverend Amy Poust of Stockton United Methodist Church, Stockton. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2006 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois.
Clarence was born June 24, 1906 in Elizabeth the son of Oscar and Ameilia (Menzemer) Hancock. He was a graduate of Elizabeth High School. On September 8, 1937, Clarence married Edna V. Koehn in Duluth, Minnesota. Edna passed away on December 13, 1994.
Clarence and Edna owned a trucking company in Elizabeth. They farmed in rural Elizabeth, and worked together preparing and cooking for the Sugar & Spice Restaurant in Freeport, Illinois. Clarence enjoyed the outdoors, most of all he loved and enjoyed his family.
Clarence will be dearly missed by his three sons, Cleland (Judy) Hancock of Littleton, Colorado, Tom (Theresa) Hancock of Belvidere, Illinois and Dennis Hancock of Stockton, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Bernita Curtis of Savanna, Illinois and Ruth Hansen of Sherburn, Minnesota.
Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edna; and one brother, Cletus Hancock.
