Christine Lynn Guzik, age 48, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Savanna Bible Church. A memorial gathering will be held immediately following the service until 4:00 p.m., at the church. Memorials may be given to the family in Christine’s memory.
Christine was born May 26, 1968, the daughter of Henry and Alyce (Ernst) Koster in Cicero, Illinois. She attended school in Elmhurst, Illinois, Berwick, Pennsylvania, and Westmont, Illinois. Christine married Robert Guzik on March 12, 2008 at the Church on a Hill, Savanna.
Christine and her husband, Robert owned and operated Ozzy’s restaurant in Savanna for seven years. She also worked at Shopko in Savanna. Christine enjoyed the renaissance and medieval era. She enjoyed collecting dolls, antiques and decorated her home with a medieval and victorian theme. Christine was very artistic and was talented in drawing and painting. Most of all, Christine trusted in the Lord and dedicated her life to God.
Christine will be dearly missed by her husband of eight years, Robert Guzik; one daughter, Jennifer Koster of Savanna, two children, Randolph Guzik of Roanoke, Virginia, and Krystal Mackowiak of Fulton, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Autumn Koster, Adam Contois, Owen Wilkins and Isabella Mackowiak; her step siblings, Ed Jr., Jim, Donna, Mike, David, and Stacy. Christine was a fond niece and will be missed by many cousins and her extended family. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Koster and her stepfather, Edward Ernst.
