Christina Marie Laurent, of Mount Carroll, IL passed away Sunday July 28, 2019, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Christina was born December 6, 1963 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Kenneth Larsen and Laura Hawkins(Getz). She will forever be remembered as a tremendously hard worker, always putting forth her best effort towards her job. She worked as a grocery clerk in her younger years, before becoming a CNA. After witnessing, first hand, her mother’s struggles with aphasia, Christina focused her energy on helping those with similar difficulties. Working in the dementia and alzheimer’s wing at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, IL, she was able to make a difference in many people’s lives. When she wasn’t hard at work, Christina loved searching for good deals online, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed any time she had with her beloved grandchildren.
Christina will be dearly missed by her sons, Charlie (Sara) Laurent of Chadwick, IL, and Anthony Laurent of Mount Carroll; daughter, Sarah Laurent of Mount Carroll; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, and Stephanie; and her brother, Mike (Pam) Larsen of Mississippi.
Christina is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Eric Larsen and Karl Larsen.
