Charles Floyd Bailey, age 64, of Argo Fay, Illinois went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at his home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in his memory.


Charles was born February 11, 1949 in Savanna, the son of Leslie and Dorothea (Colebaugh) Bailey. He attended Savanna, Thomson and Elizabeth Schools. Charles worked as a truck driver for many years, hauling for Helle Wood Products and Praxair among others. He also worked as a welder for the Sewer Equipment Company, Chadwick.
Charles loved Harleys and Fords. He was a mechanic at heart, building his own motorcycle and trike. Charles enjoyed following his kids sporting events. He was known as a genuine and likable man. Charles was cheery and always had a tender bear hug. His way of life was to live simple and down- to- earth. Charles always showed his concern by checking- in with friends and family.

Charles will be dearly missed by a son, Rick Bailey of Savanna; two daughters, Jamie (Scott) Schroeder of Pensacola, Florida and Kerry Bailey of Savanna; four grandchildren, Dalton Swiech, Taylor Bailey, Zachary Schroeder and Payton Bailey; three brothers, Robert Bailey of Savanna, Jack (Julie) Bailey of North Carolina and Richard (Monie) Bailey of Savanna; three sisters, Darlene Brown of Morrison, Betty Wilkinson of Savanna and Patsy Raab of Clinton, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend Crickett Roberts. Charles is preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Wes Bailey.
