Charlene Todd, age 75 of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday March 25, 2010, at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. A visitation will be held from 4 – 7:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Burial will take place in the Townsend Cemetery, Stockton, Illinois, at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family in Charlene’s memory.
Charlene was born on December 30, 1934, the daughter of Charles B. and Sarah (Townsend) Raab in Freeport, Illinois. Charlene attended Chadwick High School and graduated with the Class of 1953. She married Leo Todd on May 28, 1955, in Freeport, Illinois.
Charlene was a Cook and Waitress for several restaurants in Mount Carroll. She attended the United Methodist Church, Mount Carroll and was a member of the Women’s’ Relief Corp. She enjoyed cooking and loved playing cards, especially Euchre. Charlene always had quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her great one-liners.
Charlene is survived by her son, Michael Todd of Mount Carroll; two daughters, Susan Bushee of Mount Carroll and Sarah (Scott) Webster of Annawan, Illinois; a daughter in-law, Deborah Todd of Mount Carroll; six grandchildren, Steve, Jessica, Andrea, Kelsey, Kaleb, and Jareb; two brothers, Tom (Mimi) Raab of Mount Carroll and Jerry (Sharon) Raab of Mount Carroll; and two sisters, Sally (Jerry) Martin of Shannon, Illinois and Beverly Jeter of Prescott, Arizona.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Doug; and four brothers, Earl “Bud” , Philip, Richard and David Raab.
