Cecelia C. McCue, age 80 of Savanna, Illinois, died on Monday, July 12, 2010 at her home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with a Rosary Service held at 5:45 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in Cecelia’s memory. Cecelia was born on June 2, 1930, the daughter of August and Margaret (Roling) Wagner in Bellevue, Iowa. She attended Bellevue area schools. Cecelia was married to Ralph M. McCue on April 14, 1952. Ralph died on December 18, 2007.
Cecelia was employed at the Savanna Army Ordnance Depot where she met her future husband, Ralph. Cecelia then became a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and word search puzzles. She had a fighting spirit and was a loving and caring mother. Most of all, Cecelia loved spending time with her family.
Cecelia will be dearly missed by one son, Terry McCue of Savanna; one daughter, Elaine Neumiller of Davenport, Iowa; three grandchildren, Christina (Aaron) Cress of Davenport, Staff Sergeant Justin (Becky) Neumiller of Great Lakes Naval Base, North Chicago, Illinois, and Christopher (Ashley) Neumiller of Davenport; five great grandchildren, Malachi Neumiller, Raymond Cress, George Neumiller, Henry Neumiller and Montana Neumiller; one brother, Melvin Wagner of Bellevue, Iowa; and one sister, Lorraine Steines of Bellevue, Iowa. Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; and three brothers, Wayne, Alan and Jerry Wagner.
