Catherine Stasch

March 4, 1936 — April 6, 2017

Catherine Stasch, age 81, of Savanna, Illinois, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with a time of sharing at 1:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the time of sharing. Burial will take place in Braidwood, Illinois at a later date.
Catherine was born March 4, 1936, in Braidwood, Illinois, the daughter of Jacob and Victoria (Kozumplik) Person. Catherine worked as a waitress in the Chicago area for most of her life. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crafts, playing board games and helping others. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Catherine aka Katie made sure to take a vacation each year to visit family and friends. She has lived in Illinois, Indiana, Hawaii, Alaska and Washington.
Catherine will be missed by her four children, Laura Kay (Gary) Stephens of Savanna, Illinois, Mary Joe (James Jr.) Williams of Anchorage, Alaska, Linda Ann (Lenny) Silva of Spokane, Washington, and Charles Laurence Stasch of Evansville, Indiana; Grandchildren are: Nicholas Michael Petronella, George Anthony Petronella, Cassi Stephens; Cathy Joe Pla, Carl MR Skeene and James Aiken Williams III aka “Trey”; Jessie Hunter ; Nicole Ann Stasch and Alex Lawrence Stasch; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Mudryk of Yuba City, California ; and a step-brother, Walter (Joyce) McNeece of LaPalma, California. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elsie Bluma and Barbara Brackett; and brothers, Joseph and James Person.
