Catherine J. Morrissey

Catherine J. Morrissey, age 88 of Savanna, Illinois, passed away, Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Mercy Medical Center-North, Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. Father Moises Apostol will be Celebrant. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Memorials may be directed to the Catherine Morrissey general educational fund for the West Carroll school district.
Catherine was born June 25, 1917 the daughter of John J. and Agnes (Carroll) Morrissey in Savanna. She was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Catherine went on to attend the University of Wisconsin in Platteville where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught primary school in Savanna for thirty-nine years. Catherine is survived by three nieces, Judy (Robert) Craig of Orlando, Florida, Sharon (Paul) Vincent of Palm Desert, California, MaryAnn (Paul) Arnold of Bothell, Washington; many aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews. Catherine will also be missed by special friends Jane Rogers and Ed (Jean) Rogers all of Savanna.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Sister Mary Morrissey and one brother, John Morrisssey.
