Carol Sue Miller

Carol Sue Miller, age 41, of Savanna, Illinois, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 in University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2006 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. Celebrant will be Father Moises Apostol. Friends may call 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Burial will take place in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Memorials may be made to the Volleyball Program at West Carroll High School, Savanna, Illinois Carol was born August 8, 1965, the daughter of William and Rita (Nowak) Gilman in Clinton, Iowa. She graduated from Savanna High School Class of 1983. Carol attended Mt. St. Claire College in Clinton, Iowa. On May 3, 1988, Carol married Rick Miller in Las Vegas, Nevada. Most important to Carol was her husband, daughters and family. She enjoyed coaching her girls in summer league softball; traveling with her daughters for volleyball games and spending time with friends and family. Carol is survived by her husband, Rick Miller of Savanna; her parents; two daughters, Cassandra “Cassie” Marie Miller and Jennesa Jo Miller both of Savanna; one brother, William (Cathy) Gilman, Jr. of Lanark, Illinois; three sisters, Linda (Steve) Schneider of Mt. Carroll, Janet (David) Bodell of Tuscon, Arizona, and her twin sister, Judith Ann Crist of Dubuque, Iowa. Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents, Michael & Margaret Nowak, Robert & Leona Gilman and her father in-law, John E. Miller.
