Carol J. Jeffers

Carol Jean Jeffers, age 74 of Hanover, Illinois died on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Hanover United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover. A memorial fund has been established.
Carol was born on December 7, 1941 “A Date Which Will Live in Infamy”. Carol was the daughter of Arthur and Jessie (Sanderson) Jeffers. Since the doctor was unavailable at the time Carol was delivered by Ethel Crawford. She was born in the apartment above Sullivan's Hardware Store, which was her childhood home. Carol attended Hanover High School with the graduating class of 1960. She attended the United Methodist church. Carol was a hardworking, persistent and dedicated mother. She worked for the Eaton Corporation in Savanna and later Hanover for a total of forty-seven years. Carol also worked alongside her daughter and son-in-law at Dee Dee's Pizza Parlor in Hanover. Throughout her life Carol enjoyed a variety of activities including dancing and listening to music (especially Mickey Gilley), shopping, and an occasional visit to Churchill Downs. By far, Carol's favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Deatra (Michael) Aadson of Hanover; one son, Dereck (Stephanie) Jeffers of Louisville, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Nicole (Nate Karberg) Aadson of Elizabeth, Illinois and Connor Jeffers of Louisville, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Allauna Aadson and Averie Karberg; one sister, Vinetta Stevenson of Hanover; two nieces and one nephew. Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
