Carmella (Costello) Stolarski, age 67, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, previously of Chicago, died Friday, May 21, 2010 peacefully at home. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at SS John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be given in Carm’s honor for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Carmella was born April 6, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Gasper and Sue (Pietro) Costello. She attended Presentation Grade School and St. Pius Catholic High School in Chicago. On September 7, 1963, Carm married “the boy next door,” Robert Stolarski in Forest Park, Illinois. In 1976, Bob and Carm moved to Mt. Carroll when Bob was transferred to Elkay Manufacturing in Lanark, as head draftsman.Most important to Carm was her family, especially her grandchildren, they were the highlight of her life. She was a member of SS John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll, where she lead the luncheon committee for many years. Carm wrote a weekly article for the Mirror Democrat Newspaper entitled “Carm’s Kitchen.” She loved cooking, baking, playing poker in the monthly card club, and visiting the Dells with family. Carm had also worked at the V&S Variety Store, the Caroline Mark Home and Sievert’s Pizza, all of Mt. Carroll. Carmella will be dearly missed by her husband, Robert Stolarski of Mt. Carroll; her son, Bobby Stolarski of Naperville, Illinois, two daughters, Susan Marie (Aaron) Elmendorf of Manlius, Illinois and Linda (Noel) Luciano of Bolingbrook, Illinois; three grandsons, Hunter, Andrew and Zachary Elmendorf; and her sister, Angela Vanaria of Lemont, Illinois. Carm is preceded in death by both parents; her brother, Enrico Costello; and a half-sister, Millie Kissane.
