Carlos Randecker, age 76, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at his home in Mt. Carroll. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009, at the Mt. Carroll Church of God, with Pastor Rick Zickefoose officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Mercy Hospice and the American Cancer Society, or to a memorial of your choice.
Carlos was born February 10, 1932, in Woodland Township, Illinois, the son of Theodore and Ora (Sisler) Randecker. Carlos attended rural schools and graduated from Mt. Carroll High School in 1950. Carlos married Catherine Ross in 1950. Carlos served in the Illinois National Guard for three and a half years. Carlos worked for local contractors and owned and operated R and I Construction in Mt. Carroll for more than thirty years. Carlos held various offices in the Mt. Carroll Church of God where he was a member for over fifty years.
Carlos enjoyed his family, friends, winters in Texas, traveling, cabinetry, hunting, fishing, and helping others.
Carlos is survived by his wife Catherine of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; seven children, Jean Cooper of Newfield, New Jersey, Joan (Russell) Hartman of Mt. Carroll, Susan (Gary) McMillin of Decatur, Illinois, Sharon Schultz of Freeport, Illinois, Jerry (Carol) Randecker of Kewanee, Illinois, Linda (Allen) Pauley of Holiday, Florida, and Karen (Jeff) McDearmon of Morrison, Illinois; 19 grandchildren; three step – grandchildren; 19 great – grandchildren; and one step – great – grandchild; five sisters, Arlene Steen of Rockford, Illinois, Loretta (Robert) Schaut of Moravia, Iowa, Elizabeth Rath of Mt. Carroll, Jane (Gary) Cook of Stockton, Illinois, Janet Haas of Stockton, and one brother, Larry (Sue) Randecker of Mission, Texas.
