Brett “Dusty” Luke, age 40 of Stockton, IL passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, IL. A funeral service will be held, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton, IL at 11am. There will be a visitation from 9am to 11am on Thursday, prior to the service.
Dusty was born October 9, 1978 in Freeport, IL, the son of Don Luke and Chris (Boyle) Tippett. He attended Stockton schools and graduated from Stockton High School with the class of 1996. On September 6, 2003, Dusty married Wendy Gallagher of Stockton. They have 3 children, Gracie (12), Jeremiah (11), and Silas (3).
In the early portion of Dusty’s professional life, he worked as a mason, before working for M & M Concrete for a number of years. Dusty was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to spend his free time fishing with his children. He also greatly enjoyed watching football, and following his favorite teams; the Chicago Bears, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Dusty will be dearly missed by his wife, Wendy; three children, Gracie, Jeremiah, and Silas; parents, Don (Angie) Luke of Stockton and Chris (Russ) Tippett of Stockton; two grandmothers, Winnie Luke of Apple River, IL and Nola Hopkins of Stockton; one brother, Brad Luke of Stockton; one sister, Kelly (Logan) Staver of Stockton; two brothers in law, Dustin (Tamara) Gallagher of Tinley Park, IL and Greg (Felicia) Gallagher of Dunlap, IL; two step brothers, Evan Hill of Stockton, and Quinn (Sarah) Hill of Apple River; one step sister, Daely (Jesse) Tippett of Stockton; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dusty is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ralph Luke and Owen Boyle; and his mother in law, Nancy Haas.
