Brad James Tuftee, 50, of Thomson, Illinois passed away at home on May 27, 2026. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Majestic Pines, Thomson, Illinois.
Brad was born August 4, 1975, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Ronald and Rebecca (Pikios) Tuftee. He was raised in Long Grove and graduated from North Scott High School. A lifelong athlete, Brad played football in high school, and the also played football at the University of Dubuque. On August 18, 2001, Brad married Angela “Angi” Claeys. They raised three children, Bradley, Cole and Cassidy.
He trained and worked as a pipefitter, working 15 years as a member of Plumber & Pipefitters Local 25. He then worked over 15 years for Constellation Energy in Cordova on the mechanical maintenance team.
Brad was known for his big heart, his coaching youth baseball and football for many years, riding his Harley, hunting, gardening, grilling and smoking meat, and being a hands‑on dad and mentor. He gave generously of his time to the community through coaching and friendships that will be long remembered.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Angi; two sons, Bradley (Kylee) Tuftee and Cole Tuftee; his daughter, Cassidy Tuftee; his granddaughter Kinsley; his mother, Rebecca Tuftee; and siblings Troy, Teisha, Lee and Sheila, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends whose lives he touched.
Arrangements are being handled by Law Jones Cremation & Funeral Care.
