Boyce Humphreys

Boyce D. Humphreys was born on July 11, 1929. He entered Heaven’s Gates on May 14, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Naoma F. Humphreys. Boyce grew up in Kenney, Illinois and was a longtime resident of Lanark, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Animal Science.
After 37 years of service with FS Carroll Service Company, he retired in 1992. Boyce was an elder of the Faith Discovery Church in Polo, Illinois. He was a board member of the Lanark Library and member of the Lions Club. Boyce was a craftsman and built his own house. His hobbies included reading, genealogy, history, and travel.
Boyce will be dearly missed by his wife Naoma, two sons, David (Susie) Humphreys and Scott (Mary Ellen) Humphreys; three daughters, Nelda (Bruce) Meador, Helen (Charles) Coggins, and Lauretta (Michael) Boyer; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Rebecca Boyer.
Visitation services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Faith Discovery Church, 801 W. Oregon St., Polo, Illinois. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Clinton, Illinois at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock River Christian Camp of Polo or the Salvation Army of Illinois.
