Born June 24, 1949, Bonnie’s parents were Delmar and Henrietta (Giedd) Knorr of Lanark. She is a 1967 graduate of Lanark High School. It wasn’t long and she met the love of her life, Albert Williams. They began their 55 years together with a bang, on their first date they ended up in a car crash and Albert says, “It was an interesting way to be introduced to her parents.” They didn’t let that keep them apart, and on May 25, 1968, Bonnie and Albert were married. They had two children, Troy and Angie. Bonnie’s dream was to be a good Mom and wife, and she did that with a passion. Bonnie’s last wish was to make it to the 25th of May, honoring their marriage.
Bonnie is known for working as the secretary at Brinkmeier Accounting in Lanark. Right after high school, Bonnie went to work at Crum & Forestor Insurance in Freeport, she then worked several years as the Church secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanark, and later as the Lanark City Clerk.
Bonnie’s favorite pastime was sending cards and staying connected to friends and family. Writing a letter or card was the way that she could help lift spirits. She was a people person. Church was also an important part of her life, she served on the Altar Guild and as hospitality chairperson. Bonnie also loved to cook and get together with family.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Albert Williams of Lanark; her son, Troy (Kim) Williams of Lanark; three step-grandchildren, Josh (Brenda) Kness, Travis (Amanda) Kness and Jake (Alicia) Kness; her sister, Beverly Lindsay of Sterling; her niece Tiffany Miller; and great-nieces, Maddie and McKenzie Miller. Bonnie is preceded in death by her daughter, Angie in 1980; her brother, Gary Knorr in 2013; and both parents, Henrietta in 1997 and Delmar in 2002.
