Bonnie Gillogly, age 83, of Hanover, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Bell Tower Assisted Living in East Dubuque, Illinois. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Hanover United Methodist Church. Burial of ashes will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Church. A memorial fund has been established.
Bonnie was born February 19, 1935, in Hanover, Illinois, the daughter of Nelson and Dorothy (Hancock) Bearsley. She graduated from Hanover High School with the Class of 1953. She spent two years at Finley Nursing School. On January 11, 1958, Bonnie married Zane Gillogly. They celebrated 58 years of marriage until Zane’s passing.
Bonnie was a homemaker, raising four children. Her life was all about family and especially her grandchildren. She also worked at Eaton Corporation, the Chestnut Mountain Resort and the IOCA Covenience Store. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Hanover United Methodist Church. Bonnie enjoyed cooking, reading and getting together with family for the holidays.
Bonnie will be dearly missed by her daughter Dottie (Greg) Olson of Bettendorf, Iowa; two sons, Brian (Joann) Gillogy of Madison, Wisconsin and Scott Gillogly of Clinton, Iowa; six grandchildren; Jennifer Gillogly of Clinton, Danny Gillogly of Clinton, Hannah and Bridget Ralson of Madison, Lucas (Amanda) Olson of Miseau, Germany and Joshua (Jessica) Olson of Bloomington, Indiana. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Dorothy; husband, Zane in 2016; son Greg in 1988; and two brothers, Larry Bearsely in and Dick Bearsely.
