Blanche Kerkove

Blanche Kerkove, age 86, of Hillpoint, Wisconsin formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hillsboro, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with Russell Eggers officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Savanna. Friends may call from 10:00 – 12:00 two hours prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in Blanche’s memory. Blanche was born May 6, 1921, the daughter of Henry and Grace (Switzer) Tack in Thomson, Illinois. Blanche graduated from the Savanna High School with the Class of 1940. On July 24, 1953 Blanche married Leland Leon Kerkove, in Savanna. Leland died on March 20, 2006.
Blanche worked at the Savanna Army Depot, and farmed with her husband most of her life, she also worked at the Canning Factory in Sauk City, Wisconsin. Blanche worked hard all of her life, she enjoyed the out-doors including gardening and raising chickens. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her animals.
Blanche will be dearly missed by her daughter, Kelly Robinson of Hillpoint, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Ward of Blue River, Wisconsin, Kate (Troy) Ward of Fairbanks, Alaska, Zarah, Mary and John Robinson of Hilllpoint, Wisconsin; a great-grandson, Josiah Ward and father Gary Ward of Blue River, Wisconsin.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland Kerkove; a daughter, Sherry Elaine; three sisters and three brothers.
