At the age of 82, Beverly Kingery, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Liberty Village Manor Court Care Facility, Freeport, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery. Beverly was born May 2, 1933 in Salem Township on a farm, the daughter of George and Ruth (Zink) Stricker. She was raised in the farm life and attended Savanna and Mt. Carroll schools graduating from the Mt. Carroll High School with the Class of 1951. On December 26, 1953, Beverly married Charles William “Bill” Kingery in Mt. Carroll, just prior to Bill entering the Army to serve his country. They celebrated almost sixty-two years of marriage.
Beverly and Bill farmed together for thirty-four years before retirement. Beverly also worked many years at the Mt. Carroll National Bank, where she was valued for her skill of Shorthand writing. Beverly was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Carroll. She enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, and was known as a great cook.
Beverly will be dearly missed by her husband, Bill Kingery of the Manor Court in Freeport; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both parents.
