Betty Roberts

Betty Roberts, age 86, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Sauk Valley Senior Living Center, Rock Falls, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in Center Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Betty was born July 20, 1932, one of 16 children, on the family farm in Mt. Carroll Township, the daughter of Harmon and Eliza (Brunner) Roberts. She attended Pleasant Hill Country School.

Betty was a homemaker until 1971. She worked for the Eaton Corporation and then later Rolling Hills Progress Center in Lanark, Illinois for several years. When Betty was healthy, she enjoyed cooking, taking pictures, and family get-togethers.

Betty will be dearly missed by two sisters-in-law, Ruth Roberts of Tennessee and Donna Roberts of Texas, and many nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents Harmon and Eliza, 10 brothers, Earl, Julius, Glen, Herman, Lloyd, Walter, Vic, John, Paul and Philip; and five sisters, Lucille Johnston, Louise Bandixon, Florence Roberts, Nettie Roberts and Mary Ann Garien.
