Betty Rausch

Betty L. Rausch, age 76, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Big Meadows Nursing Facility, Savanna. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. A visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be given to the American Parkinson Disease Association in Betty’s memory.
Betty was born on February 19, 1938, the daughter of Oscar and Vera (Polhill) Rausch in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. She graduated from Mt. Carroll High School with the Class of 1956. Betty graduated Registered Nurse Training from Deaconess Hospital, currently FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. She married Donald E. Blackman on September 6, 1959. Betty worked as a Registered Nurse in several different hospitals (both in Germany and the United States) and several nursing homes. Betty enjoyed quilting, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Betty will be dearly missed by her five children, Miles Blackman of Marionville, Missouri; Brian Blackman of Garden City, Kansas; Sherri (Michael) Tresemer of Kent, Illinois; Keith (Lisa) Blackman of Harker Heights, Texas; and Christiene (Fran) Gable of Mt. Carroll; five grandchildren, Gregory Ditsworth, Liah Tresemer, Alyssa Blackman, Jarod Blackman, and Patrick Gable; and one sister, Donna (Elwood) Wurster of Elizabeth, Illinois, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
