Betty Ann Notz

Betty Ann Notz, age 90, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Savanna, Illinois. Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Savanna. Betty was born June 19, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Traum) Hartman in Thomson, Illinois and grew up on a farm. She attended High School in Savanna, where she met the love of her life, Albert Notz. On January 1, 1948, Betty and Albert married at the St. Peter Lutheran Church parsonage in Savanna. Together they raised four children and celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Betty worked for National Lock, Alco, and the Eaton Corporation. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Savanna. Betty had a special fondness for dolls, butterflies and flowers. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchilden.

Betty will be dearly missed by her husband, Albert; four children, Nicholas Notz of Mt. Carroll, Jan Riedel of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Torey Notz of South Wayne, Wisconsin, and Brenda Arnold of Freeport, Illinois; four grandchildren, Heidi (Matt) Dillon, Heather (Chuck) Comfort, Holly (Mark) Tanzillo and Dean Klein; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Kramer of Sterling, Illinois, Luella (John) Garrison of Sterling, and Darlene Voss of Morrison, Illinois.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna; a grandson, Daniel, Jr., 12 brothers, and one sister.
