Betty Mcginnis

Betty McGinnis, age 70, of Thomson, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa. Betty’s request is to have no funeral or visitation, and that her friends just remember her on her bicycle.
Betty was born on November 10, 1947 in Alturas, California to Clyde and Maxine (Jones) Hasting. She was married to Sam McGinnis for 51 years. She worked for 10 years at National Lock Co. in Savanna, and then Metform in Savanna for over 20 years until retiring in 2010. Her pastime was spent riding her bike around the bike trail and camp site.
Betty is survived by her husband Sam; one daughter, Sheila Davis; one son, Jay McGinnis; six grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Autumn, and Ryan McGinnis, Jarrett and Deni Davis; three great-grandchildren, Parker, Natalie, and Camden McGinnis; and one brother, Ricky of Reno, Nevada. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gary Hasting, and a sister, Dallas, both of Alturas, California.
