Beth Heidenreich

Beth L. Heidenreich, age 80, died on Saturday, October 19, 2013 after a short illness. Beth was born on October 21, 1932, the daughter of L. Arthur and Josephine (Schutt) Winter in Woodbine, Illinois. Beth attended country school in Woodbine and graduated from Stockton High School Class of 1950. After graduation, Beth worked as a Legal Secretary for a law office in Freeport. Beth married Ray Lee Heidenreich on September 24, 1950 in Woodbine. Ray died on December 20, 1993.
Beth and Ray raised their family and farmed in rural Woodbine on the Heidenreich family farm. Beth later went to work at Honeywell-Micro Switch in Freeport and eventually transferred to Galena, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elizabeth, where she was active in several circles. She enjoyed music, reading, sewing, and the outdoors. Beth held an active role in the Home Extension for several years. Beth did some traveling through the years and enjoyed that a great deal. She also enjoyed listening to stories about the travels of others. Most of all she treasured spending time and going to lunch with her family and friends.
Beth will be dearly missed by her son, Loren (Tracy) Heidenreich of Elizabeth; one daughter, Julie (Dennis) Nampel of Juneau, Wisconsin; one daughter in-law, Sherry Heidenreich of Davis, Illinois; three grandchildren, Nathan (Candie Bailey) Heidenreich of Elizabeth, Aaron Heidenreich of Davenport, Iowa and Jessica (Jack) Harweger of Winnebago, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Ella and Ethan Harweger; and one brother, Alan (DeLores) Winter of Freeport.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; two sons, Jerry and Roger Heidenreich and one sister, Laura Emsoff.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Elizabeth. Burial will take place in the Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m., until the time of the service. Memorials may be given to the Elizabeth Library in Beth’s memory.
