Bernice Ann Shackelford

Bernice Ann Shackelford, age 84, of Savanna, Illinois, died, Thursday, January 18, 2007, at Wyndcrest Nursing Home in Clinton, Iowa. A private family visitation will be held. Cremation will take place with inurnment at a later date in Savanna Township Cemetery.
Bernice was born on August 10, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Thulen) Kosier, in Savanna, Illinois.
For over twenty-one years Bernice worked at the Corner Tap in Rock Falls, Illinois, tending bar. She enjoyed fishing, craft and embroidery work. Bernice was a former member of the Savanna Women of the Moose.
Bernice will be dearly missed by her two sons, Calvin (Pat) Shafer of Fulton, Illinois and Keith Shafer of Lancaster, South Carolina; one daughter, Judy (Donald) Leonard of Lamoni, Iowa; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Bernice is preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, LeRoy, and Paul; four sisters, Lois Kane, May Tenley, Mildred Benson and Vivian Mullen; and one infant son, Ronald, Jr.
