Belinda Atherton

Belinda Lou Atherton, age 70, of Savanna, IL, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at home. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 13th 2:00 - 4:00pm with a Memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Law Jones Savanna.

Belinda was born May 17, 1950, in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Norman and Stella (Tipp) Hatfield. She is a 1968 graduate of the Savanna High School. On June 15th, 1968, Belinda married Donald Atherton. They raised three children together and celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing on May 1, 2020.

Belinda worked as a hairdresser for many years. She also worked at the Swiss Colony for several years. She was a member of Community United Church of Christ. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and spending quality time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Belinda will be dearly missed by her two sons, Keith (Katherine Hoist) Atherton and Blake Atherton, both of Savanna; a daughter, Diana (Jesse Warfield) Kradle of Savanna; ten grandchildren, Kass, Brandon, Brysan, Kevin, Phillip, Tara, Jackson, Brilee, Zoey and Kylea; seven siblings, Michael (Mary) Hatfield of Watertown, Wisconsin, Dale(Marie) Kubin of Angleton,Texas, Debbie Gilmore of Savanna, Nancy (Larry) Wagner of Andalusia, Lydia Robinson of Savanna, Susan (Rocky Swan) Hatfield of Zwingle, Iowa, and Sharon (Michael) Lahre of Savanna; a brother-in-law, Chuck (Denise) Atherton of Savanna; and a sister-in-law, Barbara (Eldon) Bardell of Chadwick; many nieces and nephews; and Deandrea Jones, who was like a son to her. Belinda is preceded in death by both parents; husband Donald; son-in-law, Richard Kradle; and three nieces.
