Barbara Ann Gilbert

Barbara Ann Gilbert was a loving Wife and Mother, her best days included working with her flowers, and spending time with family. At the age of 49, Barbara passed away at home after an extended illness. A private family service will be held.

Barbara was born March 14, 1974 in Savanna, the daughter of Harold and Diane (Kradle) Getz. She is a 1992 graduate of the Mt. Carroll High School. On October 21, 1997, Barbara married Thomas Gilbert. They have celebrated 25 years of marriage and raised a son, Brian. Barbara and Tom considered themselves soulmates and made a great team.

Barbara was a homemaker, always keeping her home cozy and welcoming to others. She enjoyed her flowers and loved decorating. She stepped-up when her parents needed it and she became an excellent caregiver. Spending time with family was the most important thing to her, She and her sister, Julie, had a special bond. Barbara also loved her cats, Bailey and Lilly.

Barbara will be dearly missed by her husband, Thomas Gilbert of Mt. Carroll; her son, Brian Gilbert (fiancé Emma Aljets) of Red Oak, Iowa; her sister, Julie (Brad) Bergman of Stockton; and her niece, Ashley Getz. Barbara is preceded in death by both parents.
