Baby Sutton Anthony Barten

Clinton, Iowa

With heavy hearts and deep love, the family of Baby Sutton Anthony Barten shares that their precious baby was born still on Monday, May 18, 2026, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf, Iowa. Though he never took a breath in this world, Sutton was deeply loved, long awaited, and will forever remain part of his family’s story.

Sutton was deeply loved by his parents, Aiden and Madison (Voss) Barten of Clinton, Iowa. They had many dreams for their son. They imagined days spent fishing together, cheering him on as he played football and basketball, and watching him grow into the little boy they already loved so much. Even before he was born, Sutton showed his personality. He was most active when his father was talking or when Aiden and Madison’s favorite music was playing. He also seemed to enjoy playing soccer like his father while in the womb, often using his mother’s ribcage as his goal.

Sutton is survived by his parents, Aiden and Madison Barten of Clinton; paternal grandparents, Jeffrey and Sarah Barten of Clinton; maternal grandparents, Aaron and Lindsey Betts of Preston, Iowa, and Daniel Soto Jr. of Jefferson City, Missouri; paternal great-grandparents, Lloyd Barten Sr. of Clinton, and George and Mary Graham of Albany, Illinois; maternal great-grandparents, Roger and Bernadette Voss of Davenport, Iowa, and Nikki Soto of Davenport; maternal uncles, Braxton Betts, Kason Betts, Aiden Soto, and Issac Soto; and his godparents, Alexis Moss of Fulton and Joseph Sides of Clinton.

Baby Sutton is preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Sandra Barten; maternal great-grandfather, James Betta; maternal great grandfather, Daniel Soto, Sr.; cousin, Chandler Betts; and uncle, Israel Graham.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Hospital for their care and compassion.

Private services will be held at Law Jones Cremation and Funeral Care in Preston, Iowa.
