Arthur Chandler Reeves, age 80, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at FHN Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, in Mt. Carroll, with Reverend Bob Ziebarth officiating. A memorial fund has been established in Arthur’s memory.
Arthur was born October 11, 1929 in Dixon, Illinois, the son of Arthur C. and Helen (Dwyer) Reeves. He attended Mt. Carroll High School. Arthur honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years. He also owned and operated the Truck Stop Restaurant and Linda’s Café in Mt. Carroll. Arthur enjoyed collecting stamps and scuba diving.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Linda Reeves of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, David (Pam) Reeves of Washington, Dana Reeves of California; grandchildren; and dear friend, Lavona Cheeseman of Mt. Carroll. Arthur is preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie.
