Arthur Allen Moshure, age 57, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at his home in Freeport, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Harkness officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mount Carroll. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Art’s name. Art was born January 14, 1953, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Rayfield and Alice (Walter) Moshure. He graduated from Mt. Carroll High School, Class of 1971 and went on to earn an Associates Degree in Automotive Mechanics from Highland Community College, Freeport. On June 30, 1973, Art married Linda Reynolds in Mt. Carroll. They enjoyed thirty–six years together.Art worked for the Carroll County Sheriffs Department as a Correctional and D.A.R.E. Officer. He then worked as a real-estate agent working for Old Northwest Land, Co., Galena and Century 21, Freeport. Art was was a member of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church, the Mt., Carroll Ambulance Association, and a life-long member of Boy Scouts of America. Art ‘s family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and camping; fixing almost anything; and talking with friends.Art is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Linda of Freeport; daughter, Sandra (Ryan) Getz of Lostant, Illinois; son, Jesse (Sharon) Moshure of Greer, South Carolina; two grand daughters, Sophia and Ella Getz; and a brother, Jerry (Jeanne) Moshure of Camanche, Iowa. Art was preceded in death by both parents.
