Arthur “Art” Kosier, age 78 and a life-long resident of Savanna passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Big Meadows Nursing Center in Savanna. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A celebration of life visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Law-Jones, Savanna.
Art was born November 7, 1943, the son of Leroy and Jessie (Hartman) Kosier. He is a 1963 graduate of the Savanna High School, and started dating Dallas “Dee” Halfman in 1962. They were married June 19, 1965 in Savanna. Art and Dallas raised two children, Kurt and Kelly, and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Art loved fishing, hunting, boating, dancing, roller skating, going to the movies. He did all of these things with family. Spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren was the most important in his life. Art worked at Helle Lumber Company for 22 years, and also worked at Metform in Savanna, as a semi driver for 27 years.
Art is survived by his loving wife, Dallas “Dee”; two children, Kurt Kosier and Kelly (Merle) Haring of Savanna; seven grandchildren, Zachary (Brittny) Castro, Alex (Alyssa) Haring, Abbie (Chase) James, Konner (Haley) Kosier, Brady Haring, Hailee Haring, and Tiffany Henek; his sisters Linda (Ken) Rodda of Savanna, Mary Kosier Breitenbrach of Brush Prairie Washington, and a brother Robert Kosier of Vancouver, Washington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Art was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Junior and Albert, and three sisters Frances Schmidt, Ruth St. Louis, and Florence Preston.
